Heading to a Pilates class and not sure what to pack? Whether you’re new to reformer Pilates or a regular, having the right essentials makes your session more comfortable and enjoyable.
1. Grip Socks
Most Pilates studios require grip socks. They keep your feet from slipping on the reformer and help you stay safe. They also keep things clean in the studio.
2. Comfortable, Fitted Activewear
Wear clothes that move with you. Fitted leggings and a supportive top are perfect. They let your instructor see your alignment and help you move freely.
3. Reusable Water Bottle
Even in low-impact workouts, staying hydrated is important. Bring a water bottle to sip between exercises.
4. Hair Ties & Small Essentials
Bring hair ties or a small pouch for jewellery. This keeps distractions away so you can focus on your session.

5. A Good Gym Towel
Even though Pilates is gentle, you can sweat, especially in longer sessions. A towel keeps you dry and comfortable. Look for a towel that is:
- Highly absorbent
- Lightweight
- Quick drying
- Easy to carry in your bag
Our gym towels are eco-friendly, made from recycled water bottles. They are 90 x 50 cm, perfect to cover the reformer carriage. They are odour-resistant, antibacterial, and stay fresh throughout your session. Plus, they’re available in Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. With our towel, you can work out confidently and sustainably. Check out our collection here: Nap and Sun Gym Towels
6. A Small Gym Bag
A lightweight bag keeps everything organized. You can carry your towel, water, and other essentials easily.
Final Tip: Keep It Simple
Pilates is about mindful movement and connecting with your body. Pack light, stay comfortable, and focus on enjoying the session.
